What is remington 660?

The Remington Model 660 is a bolt-action rifle that was produced by Remington Arms from 1968 to 1971. It was designed as a lightweight and compact hunting rifle, featuring a short 20-inch barrel and a four-round magazine capacity. The Model 660 was chambered in various calibers, including .222 Remington, .243 Winchester, .308 Winchester, and .350 Remington Magnum.

The stock of the Model 660 was made of walnut with checkering on the grip and forend for improved grip. The rifle also featured a hooded front sight and a folding rear sight, along with drilled and tapped holes for mounting a scope.

The Remington Model 660 was discontinued in 1971 and replaced by the Model 600, which was essentially the same rifle but with a different stock design and a vent rib barrel. Despite its relatively short production run, the Model 660 remains popular among collectors and hunters for its lightweight and compact design.
